I have known, learned with, and learned from Gillian for some years.  As her student now, I find her amazingly knowledgeable, confident, and empathic in her teaching.  She responds to any need without hesitation, adapting her thoughtfully planned class to anything that arises, with gracious expertise.  She is a gentle and perceptive soul, with a very deep knowledge of the philosophy and practice of yoga, which she shares simply and movingly, sharing her personal thoughts and experience while bringing it home for us.  Her classes are always enriching, very helpful; she is very caring and present.

When I practice yoga with Gillian, I experience the freedom to connect with my breath, body, heart, and community -- in whatever way feels authentic to me. I recently came to class with hip pain that resulted from a traumatic injury, and a headache. Gillian offered me several different ways/poses to explore the parts of my body that hurt. She also guided me to explore the connection between related body parts/sides. At the end of class, I felt less pain and more strength and ease in my body. Much gratitude to Gillian for her wise teaching and loving presence!

Gillian has been my yoga teacher remotely since the pandemic began, and in the studio for several years before that.  She combines deep knowledge of anatomy, yoga philosophy, and asanas with attention to the individual needs of each student and sensitivity to the world around us.  Her classes are aptly called "Compassion Yoga."
